Jump Street

We went to a new place called Jump Street for a friend's birthday. Jump Street is a warehouse full of trampolines.

They had a kid area with inflatable slides...

...and a kiddie trampoline area.

For the big kids, there were trampolines on the walls and on the ground and then a trampoline dodge ball court. It was such a great time and such a great workout. Ty had some major dodgeball skills.

I tried to show off some of my gymnastics skills by doing flips and back handsprings and ended up hurting my back. Guess I'm not a spring chicken anymore.

Once Kaylynn can walk, we will have to go back to really enjoy the place. All in all, it was a great time!

Makes My Monday - AFV

I've never really thought that Kaylynn paid much attention to the TV, but this totally proves that she does. While watching America's Funniest Video's, a clip came on of two cats who scared each other. I was in the other room and Ty was with KK on the couch. All of the sudden, I hear her BUST up laughing. Tyson rewound it and played it again. She laughed again! He kept on rewinding it and she kept on laughing while I tore up the house looking for the Flip. I couldn't find it, or any of our cameras (for the video option) so I grabbed my cell phone and recorded it. This could perhaps be YouTube material.

Sorry about the poor video quality.

Way Back When-esday - 5 weeks to go!

One year ago today, I thought I had 5 weeks left of pregnancy...little did I know I was only 3 weeks away from meeting Kaylynn!

I looked back at my old pregnancy blog (before I knew of blogspot) and wow, it's crazy how things have changed in the past year, and how moody I was! I totally forgot how I had to set an alarm for every 4 hours to take my medicine. At 29 weeks, I went into the hospital (after a routine visit) with preterm labor. They gave me betamethasone injections to help Kaylynn's lungs develop and put me on terbutaline to stop my contractions. I was also put on bed rest, but you all know me, that did not work for my personality, so I took myself off bed rest (against everyone's wishes) and went back to work after a week and a half. My doctor told me every week from week 29 on, that Kaylynn would be arriving "any day now" and to "pay careful attention" to my body. Up until 29 weeks, my pregnancy was a breeze, but thinking/fearing that she was going to come early, every single day for 8 weeks, was emotionally draining. To this day, I'm so thankful for Tyson. He put up with a lot of 'tude from me, a lot of tears and a TON of complaining!!

Anyways, here I am, in my last few weeks of pregnancy, one year ago! (I don't remember being THAT big!)

Baby Step

Kaylynn took her first unassisted step tonight!!! I wonder when she will be walking? By Valentines Day perhaps? Don't get me wrong, I'm not in ANY hurry for her to walk. I'm not quite ready to chase her around just yet, but it is exciting to see her progress.

Thanks

Lonna is pretty much the world's best sitter! Not only does she take amazing care of KK, she also sends me daily pictures of her, and today, she even captured her first word on video!! What a polite little girl we have!

It's the CHEESIEST!

Ok, so I think I have maybe started to battle finger foods. I found two things that Kaylynn likes!! Tyson and I went out to sushi the other night and lately, well, Kaylynn hasn't been on her best behavior, and battling a restaurant during dinner time scared me, but I wanted sushi bad enough, so we decided to give it a try. Of course she screamed and fussed the whole way to the restaurant (not sure what these new temper tantrums are about, but I'm NOT a fan!), but when we got there, we gave her a fortune cookie (in the wrapper) to play with and that kept her busy, along with the little boy sitting next to us. When the food arrived, she kept on reaching for my asparagus and so I gave her a spear to chew on. I think the garlic sauce was too much so I gave her one tiny piece of rice and she ate it, WITHOUT gagging!!! Hip hip hooray! She continued to eat quite a bit and kept on wanting more.

That got me thinking...what else can I give her? All kids like Mac N' Cheese, right? So I cooked up some Easy Mac tonight and she ate it too! Then she signed "all done." I've been working with a few signs, "eat," "more" and "all done" and she finally used one!! She's been doing it for the past two days, so I'm pretty sure it's not a fluke. :)

I am not totally happy that she likes unhealthy things, but hey, baby steps, right? She can eat noodles and rice!! I thought I'd be pureeing until she was in college.

Show Off

I've got lots o' teefers!! Check em' out!

I can clap, can you?

I can crawl.

I can stand up too!

I'm a such big girl now!
