We did a LOT over the weekend so I'll try to give you the short version (if that is at all possible).
We woke up Saturday morning and headed to our favorite local spot Sharkeez for breakfast. If you ever go to Newport, this place is a must. $4 breakfast with 1 hours worth of free mimosas and a nice bloody mary bar. Now that is my kind of breakfast! They call it Hungover and Broke. Perfect name if you ask me.
It was a beautiful day so after breakfast we walked around a little bit on the pier and got some family photos.
They saw a guy blowing big bubbles and were in awe.
The kids were getting antsy so we let them play in the sand. Boy, did they love it!!
Both kids were brave enough to stick their toes in the ocean.

After nap we walked to the Balboa Fun Zone.
KK typically is not a fan of her stroller but she did great this trip!
KK rode the carousel (or "horsey" as she calls it).
Both kids rode the ferris wheel and LOVED it!
The kids (and adults) enjoyed the yummy treats the boardwalk has to offer. Chocolate covered bananas and funnel cakes please! Oh yum.
Sunday morning we woke up and walked down to the local coffee shop for breakfast. It was freezing out and super windy. We attempted the beach but it was just too cold.
Despite the cold, KK was in heaven. She belongs on the beach.
That night we walked to the Newport Pier for dinner and had some great fish tacos.
On Monday, we woke up and headed to breakfast at the coffee shop. As we were walking by the fire station, the firetruck and firemen were outside. Of course the kids wanted to see the truck up close so the guys were nice enough to let the kids play.
Before we left we had to go to the playground so the kids could enjoy one last day at the beach.
Such a fun weekend with the kiddos!

We were sad to say goodbye to the beach but we'll be back soon enough. Ty and I head off for our week long California adventure soon. Cannot wait to make more memories with KK!

What a fun trip!
